ORLANDO, Fla. — A legal challenge to a Florida law requiring drug testing of welfare applicants now is a class action case.
One has to wonder if this new law will spread to other states. Should welfare recipients be subject to random drug and alcohol testing at all? Does this new law infringe upon one’s rights? Perhaps the outcome of this class action lawsuit will decide whether other states will weigh the pros and cons of drug testing. – Michael Boisseau
